Richard Levi at 33 runs and Adam Rossington at a score of 43 runs began with an up roaring start at the home side, earning a score of 50 runs in just 4 overs. Hitting 10 boundaries and an extended 6 they smashed their show.
Levi’s blasting innings of 13-balls ended during the fifth over that was being bowled by Aaron Thomason at an average of 2 wickets at 35 runs. Jeetan Patel at 2 wickets giving 27 runs further demolished the Northamptonshire’s hopes of getting a win by discharging Rossington and Ben Duckett (9) in their successive balls during the ninth over. These were the hopes of the team that could perform as per the expectations.
Halfway towards the match, Northamptonshire had scored 94-3. During the next 3 overs, they somehow managed to earn 19 runs and the hopes got finally shattered with Wakely leaving at 52 runs after hitting 3 remarkable consecutive boundaries during the 14th over.
Rob Keogh at 18 and Steven Crook at 2 also went off early with a target of 13 runs left for Northamptonshire at the final over. Wakely’s enticing 6 at the 2nd ball even though made a rise in the blood pressure as they were left with just 4 runs in the final 2 balls, but the final run out nailed the win of Warwickshire with 2 runs.
