Warwickshire taking the top lead after this slender win in the last match

Warwickshire has managed to climb on the top list of the North Group’s points table with Cricket Tips. This turned out after their slender win of 2 runs while playing against the Northamptonshire. Chasing the target of 173 runs on the home side, they were going good well prior to losing their skipper Alex Wakely, who was actually leading their chase voyage, soon during the last ball of the match and they fell short of just 2 runs.

Richard Levi and Adam Rossington gave the rest of the order a perfect launch pad by putting on 58 with his opening show in just 4.3 overs. Levi did the maximum mutilation for the other team hitting 33 runs off just 13 balls faced by him. This included 5 hits to the boundary and 2 flying over it. Further taking charge, Rossington started hitting even harder under his second-wicket partnership with Ben Duckett.

Jeetan Patel managed to put a stop on the Warwickshire with taking off the two partners in the next two successive deliveries. Skipper Wakely soon took over and both Rob Keogh and he scored 52-runs of 18 balls before getting dismissed on the final ball of an awesome 16th over given by Colin de Grandhomme. Wakely was trying his level best to grab the maximum strikes covering his lower order, but few of the tight overs were heating up things.

With 13 left for the final over, the six hit on the first-ball itself gave way to igniting hopes, though they already had lost two wickets under pressure. Bringing a 50 for the captain, everything was going good prior to a run out when just 3 runs were needed of the final ball. The side regularly lost their wickets, however managing to score 172 runs. This was the major drawback and momentum loosing point of the match.

Score Briefs: Warwickshire 172/9 in 20 overs (Colin de Grandhomme 37, Sam Hain 28; Rob Keogh 2-27, Richard Gleeson 2-27) beat Northamptonshire 170/7 in 20 overs (Alex Wakely 52, Adam Rossington 43; Jeetan Patel 2-27, Aaron Thomason 2-35) by 2 runs.

The former New Zealand veteran who has pretty well emerged as the all-rounder Scott Styris, during an ongoing commentary during the Tamil Nadu Premier League and betting tips cricket, wasn’t ready for the this idea.

He said, “I think it’s crazy. There are other ways of restricting a player who is good enough to use these bats. They can make conditions in favour of the bowlers or even push back the boundaries. Also, a bigger bat doesn’t mean that you are going to score runs all the time.” He had represented the New Zealand’s team in 29 Tests, 188 ODIs and 31 T20s.

As per the MCC’S decision, players like- MS Dhoni, David Warner, Chris Gayle and Kieron Pollard might have to look for fresh paddles as their current bats’ are already exceeding the approved limit of 40 mm. Well, there are a few who don’t need an alteration being within the limit, such as- Virat Kohli, AB de Villiers, Joe Root and Steve Smith.

Taking a pride in expressing his guardians of the game spirit, Styris excitement was full on and the same sparked in his voice while taking about this young gun of cricket – Washington Sundar. Further he added, “He is a perfect example of what this tournament has to offer. Washington did well for Tuti Patriots last year, and performed exceedingly well for Pune this year. He was able to raise his game while playing against the best in the world during the IPL. I would be surprised if each of the teams in IPL (next year) doesn’t look closely at players who are currently playing in TNPL.”

Adding to the praise lane, Styris couldn’t stop saying, “The Kiwi all-rounder is impressed with the way defending champions Tuti Patriots have gone about their campaign this season. “They definitely are the team to beat. Be it their spinners or the top-order comprising Kaushik Gandhi and Washington – they have been spot on. Despite not having players such as Abhinav Mukund, Dinesh Karthik and even L Balaji— the others have put their hands up and grabbed their opportunities.”
